I am a graduate of Murray State University, as well as a former student at Wabash Valley Community College. I have a Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, with most of my employment experience being in business. I currently work in procurement as a buyer at BWX Technologies. Within my current role my tasks include, but are not limited to the following:- Oversee the requisition of goods and services for the company- Contact possible vendors that can supply the items or complete services- Compare the price quotations of these vendors and choose the most cost-efficient option- Work with vendors negotiating for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales- Evaluate bids, select suppliers, and place purchase orders to approved suppliers accordingly.- Manage supplier submittals for compliance with technical and commercial specifications. - Complete bid analysis with documentation in support of the purchasing requirements.- Coordinate resolution of supplier technical problems, claims, and specification issues as needed.- Track open orders and report status on a monthly basis or as required in support of the business needs. - Manage open invoice issues and delivery discrepancies with internal customers and external suppliers. - Manage vendor approval process for the commodities assigned- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.- Maintain blanket ordersMajority of my role uses SAP and Microsoft Office. As a highly motivated worker, I have a variety of employment experience in different surroundings, which have taught me how to adapt to different work environments. Outside of my role as a buyer, I am a member of the Tri Kappa chapter in New Harmony, Indiana. This organization is very involved within the community rather it be volunteering, fundraising at festivals and events, awarding scholarships or donating items as needed to different organizations within the community. I was also a previous Volunteer Committee President while working with Valero. I am very passionate about helping others, especially those in need. I look forward to connecting with you!
