I taught English, Reading, Resume Writing and Job Application Skills to 9-12 grade students. I concentrate on the English/Language Arts standards outlined by the WVDE as well as focus on technical writing skills and business writing. I am on the Technical Centers That Work committee and traveled earlier this year to speak at the National Technology Centers That Work Leaders' Forum in Greenville, SC. I traveled to all 7th and 8th grade classes in Doddridge, Harrison and Taylor counties and gave an interactive presentation on the technical center in order to recruit for our Summer Academy as well as the center in general. I will serve as Lead Teacher this summer at our academy where I will focus on publicizing the amazing activities of the students and instructors.

I taught 9th-12th Remedial Language Skills, 9th grade regular English, 9th grade Honor's English and 11th grade Honor's English at Lincoln High School. I used students' individual scores from standardized tests and created individualized improvement curriculum tailored to bring thier test scores up. I helped write and implement the School-To-Work grant and went to several training sessions and served as an after school tutor under that grant as well as the GEAR-UP grant. I trained and tutored under the Kaplan ACT program. I served on other various committees geared toward improving school and student performance.
