As senior grants manager of the Department of Defense’s TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), prescribes, interprets, and applies federal regulations and policies covering the administrative and financial management for $18,991,702 in support of 37 active and 45 inactive TSNRP-funded studies. Proficiently monitors all phases of award and closing, including assessment of technical progress and performance. Coordinates a complex grants portfolio including 5 highly technical special projects. Supervised the professional development of 150 military, government service and contract personnel. Organized workforce to prepare for unannounced site visits with scheduled and unscheduled spot inspections, implemented departmental in-service trainings, and revised standard operating procedures to comply with organizational rules. These actions resulted with the department to successfully complete the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organization (JCAHO) inspection.
