About Debra Murphy

I’m a Yorkshire-born girl who has lived in Scotland for 20 years. Spending time in the lovely Yorkshire, Cumbrian and Scottish countryside is my passion (along with Border Collies, chocolate and cake).For over ten years, I worked in the learning and development sector. But, daring to dream, in 2015 I achieved my ambition to own a traditional tearoom, opening Mother Murphy’s Tearoom in Falkirk. COVID-19 restrictions destroyed this dream and forced us to close the tearoom in 2020.I’m now the published author of two books: The Magical Tearoom on the Hill and Beatrix, The Time Travelling Collie. My third book, Campervan Capers, Have You Turned the Water on? is in progress.Combining my love of writing and editing, I also provide proofreading/editing and copywriting services.
