Chief Collection Management Officer
CurrentResponsible for strategic leadership, management and planning for Library-wide collections including centralized selection, acquisitions, processing and cataloging of all formats for 25 library locations city-wide. Leads through a lens of diversity, equity and inclusion acknowledging and addressing the disadvantages of marginalized people in the indianapolis community, particularly BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities. Utilizes trends in electronic licensing, access, copyright, and traditional collections, develops policies and carries out tactical directions for maintaining the Library’s collections—including cataloging and metadata, digital collections, product development and print acquisitions. Duties also include management of the Library’s shared catalog with local schools and museums in the Shared System; management of the local history digitization efforts; development of opening day collections for relocated and new branches; negotiates vendor contracts; manages grant projects; performs analysis and evaluation of present or proposed procedures and computer-based solutions to library issues.
