Department for Transports work and communications play a crucial role in demonstrating government’s progress against these priorities.External Affairs team actively manage a network of 330 influential organisations across the transport industry, using them as public advocates for our policies and communications, informing them about policy to improve understanding and compliance, and using their channels to promote government messages to both our core audience and harder-to-reach audiences.

From operational aspects to improving water quality, to embracing new technologies and safeguarding the local environment.Working as part of the Commercial team, I had the opportunity to work alongside and understand how a team of over 100 people manage the relationship between our internal customers and external supply chain, a relationship worth over £1.1bn a year.The role allows me to understand how the Commercial, Supply Chain and Legal teams interact to manage risk, ensure effective delivery of services and reduce cost for customers.

University Of Surrey

- After being elected by 16,000 students in 2019 to represent my University's student body, I have attended and reported on numerous conferences and meetings, relayed information to higher management and pushed new union policies. - My role on Activity Zone requires me to liaise with a variety of stakeholders to push through legislative changes up to the Vice-Chancellor of the university. - From this experience, I have learnt to understand the desires of the student body in the fulfilment of their education experience and balanced this with the overarching policies implemented by the executive board. This has taught me to not only balance stakeholder interests, but to find solutions to complex issues.

Surrey University

- After being elected for Vice President at the University of Surrey for Athletics after just my first year, the responsibility to lead, organise and guide the club could not be more vital. One must communicate with all the sections of the club from the beginners, to the president and put forward and act upon the collective ideas of the people being represented. - This role meant organising social events and competitive ones. In addition, this required assorting the entries, transport and being present a minimum of five times a week to coach or converse with fellow members on the board to plan or act upon motions. - Over my tenure I resolved £2000 worth of debt through marketing, policy and financial changes within the club. This also saw a 55% increase in membership allowing us to become one of the largest clubs at university. These points, as well as others, meant we won the ‘University of Surrey Trophy’ given to the most improved club out of the 212 available at the University of Surrey.

I assist the Mayor's team by: - Undertaking research on key policy initiatives and developments in international affairs. - Assist with communication channels, media relations and social media posts. - Assist in liaisons with international guests including foreign diplomats, business leaders and visiting professionals from research institutes.

- Non-government, internationally recognised, institution pushing for peace and the values of human rights across the globe. - Whilst studying abroad I undertook an internship focuses on areas such as advocacy, policy, and project proposal research as well as communications with regard to publishing articles, and managing social media content. - This role aids Global Peace in gaining support from potential sponsors, various influential actors and being a representative at international events such as the United Nations Human Rights Forum. - Advocacy and Partnerships also played a large role, liaising with corporate social responsibility partners such as JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Digi.

- As sports editor for the university newspaper in my first year of study, I had to manage numerous articles at a time whilst complying with strict publishing deadlines. I thoroughly enjoyed the researching and writing that was demanded in such a role.
