As a Sales Advisor based in the heart of London Fashion, I have been exposed to the busy retail experience. This has not only enabled me to develop basic soft skills such as teamwork, leadership and personal confidence, but I have also been able to manifest new skills relating to different aspects of the job, for example Visual Merchandising and some Administrative tasks.

Alongside my final year of University, I carried out a 3 month long collaborative project alongside Ocado Design, with their head of design acting as the ‘client’. The main objective was to redesign a delivery trolley to address issues highlighted within the research phases of the project course. This client work was very valuable as it gave me an insight into designing for a specific user, addressing specific needs and using my expertise to help the client make the most suitable decisions.

During my GCSE period of High School, I had partaken in a 2 week Work Experience course at BMW Stephen James. I chose this field because of the practical aspects of the job. This later proved to be a core learning experience for me as it helped develop my practical workshop skills, which I have been able to employ through my Industrial Design Degree.
