Editing and writing news stories tightly with no statistical or grammatical errors was one of he many things that the job required. There were struct deadlines to adhere to and many of my news stories made it to the front page of the business daily. Carefully nuanced and in-depth copies was something I mastered during the job.

Pitching story ideas to the national editor, contributing to other reporters' long form articles on various sectors, writing for the cover stories of the magazine and meeting very strict deadlines were some of the skills I picked up. I also got a chance to visit various countries including, Japan, Thailand, Dubai, Switzerland, France, Germany for trade specific events and covering those events for the magazine was something I did regularly.

Working for the a global news agency, the largest in India, I wrote on several beats like real estate, aviation, automobile, infrastructure and FMCG. Writing crisp and to the point was one of the requirements. Meeting various people and getting breaking stories was part of the everyday routine. Being ahead of other news agencies and never miss out on any news opportunity was another requirement at the job which I met with decent success. I also wrote long 2,000 words articles regularly for the monthly economic journal of the organisation which was sent to hundreds of large libraries in the country.
