I am a mature Civil Engineering student currently at the University of Waikato. I spent nearly 10 years working as a chef in the hospitality industry, which provided me with diverse experiences and allowed me to develop excellent communication and teamwork skills. I learned the importance of working with a wide range of individuals from different backgrounds. Whilst studying, I work at Specsavers Optometrists, which has taught me a lot about customer service, meeting deadlines and working under pressure. Despite having worked in other industries, my decision to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering stems from my desire for a career that offers problem-solving skills and diversity within my working day. My outgoing nature and willingness to learn have always helped me adapt to new challenges and deliver exceptional results.
