CurrentResponsible for the following areas: Improving the quality of the product. Increasing production capacity. Reducing costs. Technology transfer from lab scale to commercial scale Identifying and developing new processes for the manufacturing of products. Implementing process controls and test methods for assessing reliability and reproducibility. Scaling up a research prototype (devised in a laboratory) to pilot production and then to full–scale manufacture. Procurement of raw materials & vendor qualifications. Ensuring the safety of personnel’s in the department, with reference to all relevant legislation and safety regulations. Maintenance existing equipments& instruments. Procurement of new equipments & instruments. Installation & qualification of them with coordination with vendors. Typical work activities: Taking leadership in new project development, establishment of mechanistic organic chemistry of each reaction profile & also to develop skill to modify process, reagent & isolation/purification techniques. Literature survey from chemical abstracts, access to different journals & accessing Internet to get required references/ details for new / existing API’s. Planning, carrying out and supervising process trials in laboratories, pilot plants. Scaling up the production process, via plant trials, making changes to raw materials or components and process parameters to ensure quality is maintained during large-scale production. Development of the existing process regarding their cost reduction, capacity improvement & operational suitability, setting of in-process parameters & their limits. Implementing process controls and devising test methods to assess the production process. Validating new processes and proving that they are an improvement.
