I know how to perform the following techniques: RNA extraction, synthesis, purification, micro injections, pulling needles, plasmid cloning, and culturing bacteria.

    In this research experience, I had the opportunity to spend time at the Bermuda Institute for Ocean Sciences. There, I visited multiple sites around Bermuda where we conducted Benthic analysis of coral species population and fish behavior around transects. We studied predation rates, grazing rates, and species density. We also conducted side experiments studying how corals from different depths responded to gradual changes in temperatures. In addition, CTD sensors were analyzed as well as plates that were used to study coral recruitment. Once we returned to Bigelow, we took all of our data and further analyzed it to determine the overall health of the Bermuda reefs compared to other Caribbean reefs. I was responsible for titrating retrieved water samples from out different visited sites to compare alkalinity values.
