Focus areas include: completing writing workshops, identifying literary elements, understanding historical context, comparing primary and secondary sources, analyzing literature, etc.• Designs daily lesson plans that incorporate auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning opportunities while maintaining a rigorous focus on key reading strategies such as annotating, inferencing, summarizing, and interpreting the deeper meaning of figurative language in context. • Differentiates instruction for English Language Learners (ELLS), special education students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), children with 504 plans, and those performing above grade level. Scaffolding strategies involve--but are not limited to--developing personalized assignments and instruction tools in addition to incorporating technology resources such as Google Classroom, NewsELA, Flipgrid, Quizlet, etc.• Administers an after school standardized test-preparation course to prepare students for annual assessments, cultivate key skills and decrease stress. This course results in students exceeding district and state scores on New Jersey's PARCC exam. • Nurtures students’ emotional development by leading a weekly advisory class focused on conflict resolution, self esteem enhancement, peer pressure resistance, self-regulation of emotions, and navigating through societal issues.

• Developed strong relationships with foundation staff and consistently exceed the organization’s annual fundraising target, generating more than 30% of the organization’s $30M annual revenue through institutional giving support. • Collaborated with program team to secure several multi-year government contracts, including over $25M in support of CSS’s Navigator Network, which helps low-income families enroll in affordable health insurance, understand their policies, and solve coverage-related issues.• Improved CSS’s ability to track client data, assess its programs, and communicate internally by raising $500K in capacity building funds to support an agency-wide technology and systems upgrade.• Secured over $700K in support of agency's criminal justice initiatives, including the Next Door Project which trains older adult volunteers (ages 55+) to serve as mentors for formerly incarcerated individuals, correct errors on their official rap sheets, prepare for job interviews, and apply for state-issued certificates of relief from disabilities and certificates of good conduct.• Supported CSS's Youth Policy department by partnering with program staff to raise funds for key projects, including a research and advocacy campaign for a universal summer jobs program, funded by the Ford Foundation. This work resulted in a $38M city budget increase, which will provide 60,000 jobs to young people during the summer months.
