I develop, research, and execute lesson plans using skills learned from my undergrad at Montclair State University, such as comparative analysis, assessing historical bias, and determining appropriate primary and secondary sources. Additionally, I've gained significant proficiency at both anticipating and scaffolding against misconceptions or issues that may arise. Working in an urban setting has granted me an increased ability to analyze situations and issues from various socio-economic backgrounds which may differ from my own. I have learned how to analyze high volumes of data in the most efficient manner possible to better serve both students and fellow staff alike. Due to the complexity of Newark Public Schools organization as a district, I have also had the pleasure of enhancing my ability to communicate up and down an extensive chain of command. This communication features many figures who play prominent roles both in the district and in local government, even though they are seldom seen in my workplace as a result of the district's previously mentioned structure.
