ACIL Allen Consulting is the largest Australian owned, independent, economic, public policy, and public affairs management consulting firm in Australia. At ACIL Allen I advised on the design of the regulatory frameworks for electricity networks, provided economic benchmarking and regulatory advice to electricity and gas distributors, and advised on reforms.

Ilex Consulting was my own microeconomic consulting business. At Ilex, I advised a Melbourne based water business on the development of their 2013-18 Water Plan, the Victorian Government on electricity and earth resources sector reforms and on a PNG hydro power project.

In this position I was responsible for providing economic advice on policy issues across the portfolio (agriculture, fisheries, forestry, energy and earth resources), for leading the economics and policy research program and for managing a team of 12 research economists.

In this position I provided wide-ranging support on water policy and reform programs including advice on the socio-economic impacts of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and the economic regulatory arrangements for the Victorian water sector. Also advised on possible urban water reforms.

As a member of the executive group of the national economic advisory group, I contributed to building the economics team and practice, oversighted and provided economic consulting services and assisted in the management of staff within the economics group.
