Buffalo Sewer Authority Contract: Created & implemented Water Equity Ambassador Stewardship program funded by Department of Labor. Staff engage and support a crew of AmeriCorps Members, 18-30 years, in equity centered workforce development while they obtain job training in Stormwater Maintenance operations at BSA sites around the City of Buffalo. This training provides a path to careers in municipalities, private and nonprofit organizations. Our approach is designed to fill socio economic gaps and remove barriers for Opportunity Youth who are underemployed. Participants in this program also learn to identify and leverage opportunities through networking and referrals that lead to transformation in them and the lives of their families!
