Director, Continuing Education & Staff Development
OVERVIEW:In this position, I led a cross-functional team in providing organizational development services for employees across all of the hospital’s 12 sites. My core responsibilities included managing an annual budget, prioritizing and assigning tasks to various team members, and providing progress reports to senior leadership. I directed all aspects of multiple programs that covered talent development and performance management, HRIS and compensation, general hospital and customer service training, and organizational/clinical competency assessment functions. A key component of my position was to balance frequent interactions with directors, managers, senior leaders, and family faculty members in order to address issues and meet mission-critical goals.HIGHLIGHTS:■ Implemented GE Performance and Talent Development Model; Trained all VPs, Section Chiefs, Directors, Managers and Supervisors and developed Leader Toolkit to sustain model. Coached leaders in use of SMART methodology for writing goals. Results included: first Leadership and Talent Review was held; initiation of Talent Conversations as a Performance Management strategy; Section Chief, Director and Manager annual goals met SMART criteria.■ Developed and implemented ongoing Leadership Development Program, including roadmap and blog site for feedback; resulted in high satisfaction rating from participants and 40% increase in leaders’ full understanding of budget alignment calculations.■ Initiated strategic planning to transform HR department from operational to strategic partner. Conducted Job Task and Work Flow analysis, created HR Operating Calendar, coordinated meetings for team building, and worked with Employee Engagement Officer on strategic plan, with improved team collaboration as a result.■ Classified leadership jobs as part of migration to new Human Capital Management System (HCM). Collaborated with multiple HR staff to create classification model based on responsibilities vs. titles.
