I also wrote CBA's for capital improvements with favorable returns each year. We employed lean techinques utilizing cellular manufacturing and accumulation to reduce headcount and reduce our cost per pound.I assisted plant mgmt with preparing for AIB and BRC audits by preparing punch lists for follow up actions to be completed. We recieved an "A" rating on our first BRC audit and consistenty recieve an "Excellent" for AIB. I worked with supervisors and employees in developing training manuals for operators. We selected employees who had demonstrated leadership potential to deliver the training to groups of employees. Providing this type of delivery was a good morale boost for the plant and demonstrated our commitment to make continuous improvement work through our employees. Our FI Team(s) worked to reduce overpack on our high capacity lines utilizing a front ended approach to overpack reduction that is a recognized innovation pioneered by the Oak Creek Mgmt Team. I am very proud to have been part of this team and a driving force for change. Our Quality "First Time Right" improved year after year through the successful application of Root Cause Analysis and One Point Lessons. Our Quality Manager developed Quality Matrixes for all products and we employed Infinity Loop Methodology to eliminate several customer complaints by identifying areas where specifications could be improved to meet the customer requirements and product functionality. I was moved to first shift and assigned to oversee and fix the liquid production department which was struggling to meet schedule. Again I used autonomous maintenance to improve the machine readiness and develop our machine operators using troubleshooting guides. Ultimately the decision was made to shut down the current location and move the assets to other plants across town. I coordinated scheduling to build inventory and kept staffing at levels to achive this. Show less
Changed the safety culture of the plant through supervisory/employee training and regular safety audits. Prior to this the plant was over budget each period. I developed an Excel spreadsheet that was used to improve the Malted Milk process, reducing out of spec product and hitting the targeted fats within a range of +/- 0.2 percent. This was quite an achievement for the employees who were involved. I implemented the start of 5S, organizing work centers to reduce the "searching" for what was needed. One result of this was a "Superior" rating from AIB during a routine audit. Show less

I was successful in building a functional team that was informed and effective in achieving the company goals at shift level. We developed training manuals for the line employees that detailed job responsibilities and laid out change over requirments that resulted in a reduction in the change over time by 30 min. I managed an ROI system for blend management that gave LCF based on daily cost of materials.
