As is the case with any job I know of that is worth doing, my duties changed over the years I was there. I initially started off doing strictly direct sales to individuals in their homes where I learned to establish rapport quickly while simultaneously discovering the potential client's need/interest in our product and helping them reach a point of decision. Then I became involved in the training and leadership of inexperienced agents to prospect and sell in the same way I was originally trained to do. Eventually I moved to presenting in front of groups of individuals and businesses. There where so many things I learned while in this position not just from the people I was mentored by but also through self-study. Perhaps the biggest take away was any clear and specific goal is attainable though committed determined action such as hitting a specific personal sales quota or leading by example for others to see how an objective can be achieved when they previously believed it to be impossible.
