The Conference held at Ashford Castle was a great sucess & Celebrated Digicel’s 10th anniversary with an historic board meeting held for the first time ever in Ireland. The Theme of the 2011 Annual Digicel Awards Ceremony was ‘The Golden Shamrock Awards’. The highlight of the Conference was when 135 members of the Digicel team took up the Challenge set by Chairman, Denis O’Brien, to take a swim in the freezing Atlantic Ocean, on the West Coast of Ireland. Each person who swam raised US$1,000 for the Haven Charity – an Irish organisation set up by Digicel Vice-Chairman, Leslie Buckley. The Haven Charity is working to build sustainable communities, through the provision of housing, emergency relief and by implementing community development programmes in Haiti. Thanks to the efforts of the fantastic team at Digicel & Denis O'Brien, a total, US$135,000 will go towards the organisation’s efforts in Haiti. It was an honour to be involved with such a great event with wonderful people.
