In 2015, I was awarded the Daniel's Fund Scholarship, a full-ride, character-based scholarship for low-income students seeking higher education. This scholarship program helps students prepare for a future that is in line with their character by not only providing financial assistance, but also supporting work and volunteer efforts and providing additional guidance for first-generation students like myself.

As an intern in Congressman Swalwell's district office I worked directly with Congressional staffers and constituents. My duties included recording constituent needs and concerns, supporting office staff with daily tasks and casework, and completing legislative tasks as needed.

As a student ambassador, I worked with prospective students and their families over the phone and in person (through campus tours) to determine if Dominican was the right place for them to study higher education.

I studied Education at Dominican with a triple minor in History, Spanish, and Political Science.

As a Congressional Intern for the Panetta Institute for Public Policy, I represented my University both in Monterey, California and Washington, DC. In this role, I learned valuable experiences surrounding public policy, Congressional work, and government. I was selected as an intern liaison and worked to communicate between the Institute and my fellow interns.

As a Congressional Intern, I aided my congressional office in daily operations. I worked closely with legislative staff in developing briefings for our Congressman as well as responding to constituent concerns. I worked to scheduled tours around Washington, DC for visiting constituents and became familiar with Congressional software.

As the executive secretary of ASDU it was my duty to develop agendas and meeting minutes as well as ensure that all members are informed and prepared for weekly meetings and decisions. In this position I also sat on the General Education Board as a student representative. On that board my duties included representing the student voice while the General Education system at our university was being reviewed and changed.
