About Della Watson
I have been an RN for 28 years with the last 16 in rehabilitation, which I find challenging and rewarding. I work with SCI patients , developing an interactive education booklet for the patient, and presenting a poster presentation on the education booklet at the annual ARN conference. I will be presenting a poster on multi-modal pain management of a SCI patient this fall at the annual ARN conference. I have presented CRRN review courses to present staff as well as staff at UPMC Pittsburgh Rehabilitation Institute. I have leadership experience as well as professional development and education experience. I am passionate about nursing and quality patient care. I set expectations for myself as well as those I work with and provide education and resources to assist staff in meeting the expectations set out. I assist with global new hire orientation and feel the first impression needs to be a quality impression and I try to role model that in everything I do, I have been awarded the "Sister Jean Mohl" award, an award recognizing a nurse for her excellence in clinical practice, leadership and community service, in 2010 and 2016.

I was a staff nurse on a medical-surgical unit that cared for general medical surgical patients with plastic surgery as the focused specialty. In 1990 the unit transitioned to an orthopedic/ medical surgical unit. I became an ONC and provided education and support to staff with patients in stryker frames, halo traction, skeletal traction, bucks traction as well as other orthopedic topics. I organized an 2 day orthopedic conference with ONC CEUs.
