In this role, Demi works to enhance Homewood’s business district through small business support, physical improvements, marketing and events. She works alongside community-based organizations to achieve equitable economic growth for the neighborhood. Additionally, she supports other Neighborhood Allies boots on the ground initiatives to assist in capacity building and offering technical support and assistance.

- Research and implement new ways to achieve neighborhood progress through revitalization and reinvestment using resident- driven efforts and maximizing collaboration with other non-profits- Construct and perform surveys, then analyze data to determine residents' needs and how our organization or partners can meet them- Develop data collection methodology to map out areas of the neighborhood to detect patterns such as vacancy, ownership, tax delinquency, and crime to determine proper funding distribution- Act as liaison among community, city departments, and Urban Redevelopment Authority to acquire land and recommend highest and best use of publicly-owned land- Work with Executive Director to create, execute, and oversee a cluster planning process to guide real estate development within the neighborhood- Supervise and train staff of five as well as hire interns and consultants
