Dena is an attorney at the Institute for Policy Integrity where she works to improve regulatory decisionmaking practices related to climate change, clean air, and environmental justice. Previously, she worked to defend and strengthen climate and clean air protections essential to safe-guarding public health and the environment at the Environmental Defense Fund. Her portfolio spanned efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector, protect vulnerable communities from toxic air pollution, and uphold the foundational science essential to environmental and public health protections. Prior to EDF, She worked at the Sabin Center on developing legal and regulatory tools to advance the efforts of governments and private actors to adapt to a changing climate and to mitigate the effects of climate change. She completed a J.D. at Yale Law School and a Masters of Environmental Management at Yale School of the Environment. While at Yale, she worked with the Yale Climate Change Dialogue and City of Paris to expand global action on climate change by designing legal mechanisms that could link climate commitments from cities, regional governments, and corporate actors to the international treaty regime. She also completed legal internships at Earthjustice's Alaska office and the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
