I can trace my Nursing experience all the way back to 2009. I started as a Mental Health RN in Behavioral Health Triage Department.Seeing different patients everyday, unique and interesting cases. I was very fortunate to have strong individuals as my mentors and guide to this journey.After 6 years in Behavioral Health Triage as a floor nurse and a Charge Nurse, I decided there are so much more I could offer using my experience and skills to improve the care of our mentally ill patients.I decided to apply for a House Supervisor position. From a large variety of candidates, I was fortunate enough to be given a chance to do so.As a house supervisor, I learned so much more about leadership and acquired the skills and experience to coach amazing nurses.2 years in the House Supervisor position have given me the courage, the inspiration to aim higher and eventually applied for a Unit Manager position. As before, out of multiple candidates, I was fortunate to be selected.The past 2 years as a Unit Manager have taught me nothing but humility, passion for coaching and leading our young nurses in to the future of healthcare.The window of Mental Health Nursing opens up to an amazing and exciting field of innovation and caring. As a Unit Manager, I was able to focus a lot more on molding, coaching and providing the highest support I can give so our nurses can have the tools and evidence based practice to care for our patients. This will and always be my fueling passion to continue moving forward and never stop improving myself to be better at guiding and leading our nurses in to world class health care practice.
