Parts of my duties involve;Preparation of technical documentation and reports (basis of design, scope of works, feasibility & conceptual studies, piping, valves and fabrication & installation specifications, etc). In-depth knowledge working with standards such as ASME B31.3, AS 4041, AS 4343 and AS 1210.Preparation of management plans for each project stage (project execution plan, document deliverables, work breakdown structure, etc).Assist in the development and monitoring of project schedules, cost estimates, proposals and budgets.Preparation of “request for quotation” style documentation and correspondence with suppliers to identify and cost the necessary equipment/scope of works to meet the technical specification/documentation.Reviewing and technically evaluating proposals received from suppliers and subcontractors.Achievements Undertaken:Haoqin UCG Trail Plant – (Value of Project $5 million): Currently the lead engineer involved in CEL’s latest UCG project located in the Inner Mongolia Province of China. Responsible for the overall design & delivery of the Haoqin projects aboveground facilities which includes compressors stations, gas treatment and waste water facilities, pressure vessels, interconnecting piping & skids and all associated equipment selections. This specific project is extremely challenging due to the projects location which experiences ambient conditions in the range of -40°C to +40°C. CEL Piping Design Standard Specifications: Completed CEL’s first Piping Design Standard Specification in accordance with ASME B31.3 which will be used extensively throughout CEL’s future projects. In addition to this standard, ASME 150#, 300# and 600# Piping Specification Sheets were also completed for Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel which will aid in standardising all CEL’s designs, thereby, resulting in more efficient and economic standards for the company.

The project consisted of relocating some of Senex’s old existing separation and storage facilities to its new larger capacity upgrade storage facilities. The project also consisted of installing new oil/water separation tanks, new crude oil inlet manifolds along with all the interconnecting pipework, valves and scheduling of the new tie-in points. This new upgrade enabled the client to achieve improved operating functionality, reliability and availability for its crude oil production.
