AmeriCorps is a voluntary civil society program supported by the U.S. federal government. Within AmerCorps I served in City Year which is an education nonprofit organization founded in 1988 dedicated to helping students and schools succeed. This was an incredible challenge because the students gave me more than I could have ever imagined. Volunteering here gave me purpose and helped me figure out what it was I wanted to do on earth. I want to serve no matter what, and help out where ever I can.
