NAMI Maryland provides educational resources and events, statewide outreach, advocacy and affiliate organizational support. NAMI Maryland provides the free trainings that allow NAMI affiliates to deliver NAMI programs.It is our core principle that empowering family members and individuals affected by mental illness is a critical factor in recovery, and a potent force in providing community education and bringing about systemic change. NAMI Maryland is a unifying voice and a skilled provider of knowledge and skills at the grassroots level. NAMI Maryland encompasses a strong statewide network of more than 43,000 families, individuals, community-based organizations and service providers. These members and supporters are the face and voice of the NAMI Maryland movement--families, individuals, friends and businesses--who come together to celebrate mental illness recovery, to honor those who have lost their lives to mental illness and to combat stigma, promote awareness and advocate for others. We provide public education workshops, teleconferences on specific issues, and carry out an ongoing campaign and public policy agenda to improve mental health services throughout the state, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and support effective treatment and recovery programs.The mission of NAMI Maryland is to improve the quality of life for individuals with mental illnesses and their families. We are dedicated to providing education, support and advocacy for persons with mental illnesses, their families and the wider community.

Grew the percent of diverse partners in in the U.S. from 8%-12% and their revenues from 17%-18% in 18 months. Developed blueprint for Global Diverse Partner Initiative, several offerings/campaigns to nurture their growth and a global registration system for development in Partner Relationship Management (PRM).

Denise served globally, for nearly 45 years, in numerous leadership and executive positions in IBM including Directors of Global e-business, Global Customer Loyalty, and Global eRelationship Marketing. She was successful in sales, marketing, business process reengineering, new organization development, business development, transformational leadership among many areas of expertise.She was a member of the IBM Faculty for Global Sales Schools, IBM Advancing Minorities in Engineering (AMIE) Executive Champion for Morgan State University School of Engineering, a mentor for the Carver P-Tech school in Baltimore, and Executive Sponsor for the Nation's Capital Black Business Resource Group. A mentor to many Denise is also a Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts, USA.
