The MIND project is a study into bilingual childcare in the Netherlands. 11 childcare organisations offer childcare in both Dutch and English or French to children in the age of zero to four from 2018 until 2022. A team of researchers at the University of Amsterdam is investigating how children, who attend such bilingual centers, develop their language proficiency.As a student-assistant/data manager, I visit several organisations to test children on their language proficiency in English, transcribe data, and take care of some other organisational tasks. I followed an Internship at the Centre for Language Studies during my Masters General Linguistics. During my internship at the Centre for Language Studies, I contributed to a PhD project called: "How early foreign language education influences pupils’ linguistic and cognitive development. A comparison between monolingual, “VVTO”, and early bilingual primary-school pupils". This contribution mainly involved acquiring data and communicating with the children that participated and their parents. The data was acquired by means of experiments, which mainly consisted of tasks that the children had to conduct on a laptop.
