A catalyst for business improvement, with welsh business, by welsh business for welsh business, Wales Quality Centre is an independent not for profit organisation, which supports businesses of all sizes and sectors on their Journey to Excellence. The Centre provides training, and consultancy services for a range of business improvement frameworks, tools and techniques, and management standards.

I have supported Wales Quality Centre since it's inception in 1998. A not for profit organisation, it was created by Welsh Business with Welsh Business For Welsh Business. This is as true today, as it has ever been, and our mission remains the same, to create capacity and up-skill Welsh business to be sustainable and to be able to compete in a global marketplace.Instrumental in introducing the Business Excellence Health Check, we annually run The Wales Quality & Innovation Awards, celebrating and recognising the Best in Wales.

With a science background, originally working in pharmaceuticals, I progressed to my first Board Level job, in a hygiene products company at 26.Since then I have been lucky enough to occupy a number of positions in a wide range of industries, convincing me that variety is indeed the spice of life and that transferable skills provide me with a range of exiting opportunities.I have successfully managed a range of diverse organisations as Managing Director of, Solutions, a gift retail company, Microtech – an electronic company, Caron Alternative Energy Systems – a renewable company, and currently Aileni - Business Improvement consultancy.In addition to my private sector experience, I have also held a senior role in Local Government and have worked Pan Wales with a range of public sector organisations.Along the way I have added a number of skills to my portfolio, including Project Management, Change Management, Marketing, Business Excellence Assessing, Management Systems implementation and auditing and Web development, and Data Management.My diversification has enabled me to quickly adapt and has provided me with a solid background to undertake a number of interim management roles, and provide additional resource to organisations to deliver projects.My ability to work strategically, combined with an understanding of underlying detail, has helped my track record for successful delivery. Business improvement and personal development is my passion, my role as Vice Chair of the Wales Quality Centre, allows me to engage with and support businesses to improve, and also to help small businesses create an infrastructure for sustainable growth. I also provide training sessions through the Wales Quality Centre, which enables me to pass on my knowledge and experience to future generations.
