As an abuse counselor I was responsible for documenting suspected allegations of abuse and neglect of both children and adults. Based on the information presented during the call, I determined if the information met the criteria for an investigation. Once the report was accepted based on the level of urgency - the case was assigned to the local county office to be assigned to an investigator. Additionally, I worked as a Point of Contact in the absence of my direct supervisor to assist with call assessments. I also reviewed cases that were determined not to meet the criteria to make a second and final determination.

Gadsden Re-Entry Center was a low security prison which housed inmates who were close to release and preparing them for reintegration to the workforce. I was responsible for creating lesson plans for 25-30 students regarding resume creation, job interview skills, the proper way to conduct themselves during an interview, and providing guidance.

Keeton Corrections functions as a half-way for newly released federal inmates. As the Case Manager I met with each resident on a weekly basis to assess possible needs and barriers once they were released. I also connected residents were eligible for home monitoring to their GPS devices. I completed home visit inspections prior to a resident being allowed a weekend pass to visit family. Two months into my position I was moved to Interim Director. As the Director, I was responsible for scheduling all facility monitors, approving all work applications and travel, I handled petty cash to purchase supplies for the facility. Additionally, I was responsible for all employee evaluations and reprimands as necessary. I also was responsible for all investigations involving residents in the facility and determining if they would be sent back to prison and receive an in-house reprimand.
