Full service full-service veterinary medical facility providing high quality medical, surgical and dental care.Animal Care- Prepped animals for surgery, monitored and ran anesthesia, performed dentals, and recovered animals after procedures- Assisted doctors with medical and surgical procedures- Venipunctures, placed IV catheters, read fecals, ear swabs, positioned and took x-rays, as well as placed some ET tubes.- Cleaned and cared for all animals in facility (e.g.: administered medication, walked dogs and cleaned kennels, etc.)- Prepared specimens to be shipped off for lab work- Filled prescriptions- Bathed animals, nt, expressed anal sacs, and minor groomingTeaching / Training- Trained technicians on proper blood draw techniques, drug protocols, animal handling, x-ray techniques and positioning, surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring and protocolsAdministrative Duties- Staff management and scheduling- Performed employee evaluations- Established clinic policies and procedures- Trained new staff- Updated medical records- Oversaw client relations- Responsible for interviewing and hiring new employees- Receptionist duties- Responsible for inventory control and ordering supplies (e.g. office supplies, pharmaceutical and surgical supplies, etc.) for hospital on a weekly basis- Scheduled surgical, follow up and routine care appointments
