As Chief Communications Officer for The ‘me too.’ Movement, Denise oversees external communications with the organization’s stakeholders and communities, and creates strategies for visibility and public relations. She works primarily to distinguish the dynamic work of The ‘me too.’ Movement within the larger sexual assault space, and to change the way people talk about the work of the movement.

Create communications strategy, develop community engagement and education programs for artists and cultural producers. Forge and strengthen relationships with community organizations to advance Leeway's mission. Utilizing both traditional and new media to promote Leeway as an innovative partner in the grantmaking and art for social change space.

Wrote copy for and produced promotional materials, presentations and sales literature. Collaborated with sales team on development and delivery of company proposals. Led and managed trade show, seminar, and conference areas. Managed e-mail marketing campaigns and social media, maintained CRM system. Liaised with contractors and vendors to produce video, digital and print materials.

Managed communications between grantees and program staff. Processed grant contracts and all legal and financial documents. Handled logistics related to meetings, special events and conferences. Maintained grantee files and database.

Recorded minutes for all board meetings. Assisted in planning and production of Black Lily Film & Music Festival. Coordinated administrative and educational activities as part of the Black Lily Girls Workshop.

Managed production of annual resource guide. Designed marketing materials and maintained website. Communicated with filmmaking community via e-mail blasts and social media. Assisted in event planning and programming for filmmakers and industry professionals.
