Experienced Human Resources practitioner with a varied history working in several industries including construction, manufacturing, wholesale pharmaceuticals, grocery and financial services. I am a strong, skilled generalist in nearly all aspects of human resources and take pride in staying current on employment regulations as an important part of risk management. My strong background in employee relations, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, worker's comp, DOT tracking, leave administration, and policy-writing complement my source of true fulfillment which is mentoring staff at all levels and providing on-going management training and development. Self-motivation and needs analysis are my strong-suits and I energize through development and implementation of programs that improve employee's and manager's success in their own roles. I primarily view my HR role as being both a consultant and servant leader equally for employer and employees and gain the most satisfaction when developing and and implementing programs that ultimately lead to that beautiful balance between employer and employee satisfaction for mutual and continual growth and success. When I am not serving at my workplace, I am most often found nurturing my hobbies of pollinator flower-gardening and goat-and-chicken-herding on my small farm located within city limits of Kansas City, Missouri. When the animals and flowers are attended, I then revert to resourcing for gently-used pieces and parts to upgrade my 100-year-old farmhouse and half-century-old out-buildings. Part of the fun is the hunt for leftover materials and supplies, and the remainder is the challenge of learning how to use them for repairs or improvements. I enjoy learning new things and appreciate discovering unexpected yet interesting tidbits of information that I can tuck away and later pull from my proverbial hat when I am wanting to establish a friendly and credible relationship with an employee, new hire, or a manager with whom I am not yet acquainted.
