I lead a communications team within the Science Directorate at NASA's Langley Research Center. I lead the development of effective communication products, including (but not limited to) the Science Directorate annual report, fact sheets, web articles, talking points, lithographs and infographics, which help to share the big picture of what the Science Directorate does: Find answers to some of the greatest questions affecting our planet and its people. Internally, I create presentations and reports that communicate progress, successes and upcoming activities to the organization, the Center and NASA Headquarters. In this position, I am initiating a new online communications resource center for the Science Directorate, and I suggest and approve changes to the existing online reporting and metrics tool used by employees.Externally, I work with public affairs professionals at the Center, across the Agency, and at partnering Universities and organizations on project- and mission-focused events and efforts. I also work with legislative affairs to support visits and tours that involve science, and the team supports the development of activities and products used at public events and national conferences. I work with scientists, researchers and project and mission leads to ensure that all products meet the specific needs of the customer, and then strategically align those products with the appropriate audiences and outlets.
