Dennis was responsible for providing policy advice and support to the Secretary of Defense and other senior DoD and interagency leaders by formulating, recommending, integrating, and implementing international security strategies related to the nations and international organizations of AFRICOM, African nations, their governments, and defense establishments.Before his appointment as DASD Africa, he served as the first appointed DoD Small Business Director since 2014. Dennis led a network of more than 700 small business professionals and was principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense for all matters relating to small business. Dennis provided leadership, guidance, and oversight to the military departments and defense agencies to create unity of effort towards achieving established small business goals in support of the National Security Strategy and National Defense Strategy and the defense industrial base.From 2014 to 2017, Dennis served with Interpol Washington, the U.S. branch of the International Criminal Police Organization. While at Interpol, he led the advancement of U.S. law enforcement interests in the areas of identity intelligence and anti-piracy.
