Dennis M. King was the Rolls-Royce PLC. Company specialist in Engine Health Monitoring specialising in the vibration aspects of EHM. He was awarded an MSc in Engineering Mechanics in 1976 by the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK. and Chartered Engineer in 1988 (RAeS). After graduating he joined Rolls-Royce in Derby, working in Stress analysis, and design before moving to the vibration laboratories and taking on the role of consulting on the design, build and balance of aero engines. Over the last twenty years he has been actively involved in developing Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) technology including Hardware, software, fault recognition and diagnostics. He has the experience of applying this technology globally within the R-R business. He has been awarded the R-R Component Engineering Quality award (1997), The R-R Airlines team award for technical innovation (2000), R-R Chairman’s team award for technical innovation (2001). Won the Rolls-Royce high value patent award (2008). Founder member of the 'Quick' team that developed the Quick system, an engine health monitoring device that is used on all RR test beds around the world and is now fitted on new large civil aero engines (EMU) for in flight engine health monitoring.Currently I run a number of rotor balancing and vibration training courses. Carry out vibration investigations and consult on EHM techniques and applications.
