Dennis McBride is Mayor of the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, elected to four-year terms in 2020 and 2024.From 2008 to 2018, he served as 4th District Alderman, winning election three times. In 2012 and 2014, his colleagues elected him to two-year terms as President of the Wauwatosa Common Council.Dennis worked for 24 years as a Senior Trial Attorney and Supervisory Trial Attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, In prior years, he served as a Law Clerk to U.S. District Judge Terence Evans (E.D. Wis.), worked for Boston and Milwaukee law firms, and taught part-time at Marquette University Law School. From 2002-15 he served on a committee of judges and lawyers which drafted model jury instructions for use in U.S. district courts in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. For his professional accomplishments, he was named a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation in 2014.Among many civic activities, Dennis was a co-founder of Support Our Schools (SOS) Wauwatosa and of Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool, Inc., which provides a community swimming pool and beer garden for Wauwatosa. For three years, he served on the Wisconsin Retirement Board. Dennis frequently speaks on topics of law, politics, race relations, and history and culture. For 12 years, he served as Coordinator of the Hedge School at Milwaukee Irish Fest, and has given talks on various topics at Irish Fest, the Irish-American Heritage Center of Chicago, UW-Milwaukee's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and other forums. Dennis is a member of the UW-Milwaukee and Wauwatosa East High School Athletics Halls of Fame. Among other achievements, he twice won the Mayfair Marathon, the predecessor to the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. He is co-author, with his twin brother Patrick, of Patrick's memoir, THE LUCKIEST BOY IN THE WORLD (Vervante Books, 2021).
