I deal with all types of problems that clients may have regarding employment, from unlawful deductions, to breach of contract and dismissals. I also give general advice on issues such as state benefits, housing, debt, and relationships.

I commenced work as an HR Adviser on an interim contract. I was based at Manchester Airport and reported directly to the General Manager. I dealt with disciplinary issues incluind dismissals, and was part of the UK HR team consisting of HR specialists from five other Airports. I also used to negotiate with the trade unions regarding pay and conditions of employment. I became the Employee Relations Adviser covering five airports within the UK, with a specific role on equality and diversity. I also took on the role of audit and training programme developer for all the sites outlined above.

My role was mainly in the field of employee relations advising all levels of management on handling discipline and grievance cases, and was responsible for the writing up or reviewing all employment policies and procedures. I also took responsible for designing and delivering of training programmes on a number of employment issues. I also worked on the delivery of absence trends and strategies, and the introduction of a equality and diversity programme. This involved writing the policy and delivering the training programme to all 700 staff. I also acted as a mentor to the health and safety officer.
