About Dennis Brouwer
As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by data. Always having been eager to learn, I already knew at a young age that my eventual job would involve statistics. Being a first-generation student, I never took studying at a university for granted. It was a goal that I had to achieve by putting in my best effort and developing a wide interest in everything that happens in the world aroud you.During my time studying Economics and Business Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam I really enjoyed learning new things and further developing skills during the many different courses. Additionally, I liked to challenge myself to achieve a satisfying result. Because of my achievements, I had the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and knowledge by organizing lectures in varying fields of study regarding economics and econometrics, which was an awesome experience that has taught me a lot about myself.My Master’s in Data Science and Marketing Analytics really suited me well and there I found out that combining programming skills with knowledge about statistics enables you to carry out very interesting research studies. Using these skills I have worked a few years with a renowned Dutch political opinion pollster, Maurice de Hond. I built a model with which election results can be predicted more accurately.Now, I’m ready for a new challenge where I can apply my gained experiences and knowledge and where there would be an opportunity to further develop my skills. I am enthusiastic, goal-oriented, able to lead and coach and like presenting in front of a group and writing (statistical) reports. If I can mean something, either on an individual level or together in a team, then I will be 100% committed to achieving the best possible result.Programming skills: R, Python, Stata, SQLStatistical programs: RStudio, SPSS, Stata, PyCharm, Tableau, Excel, JMP, MEXLApplications: machine learning, regression analysis, multivariate analysis, time series analysis, data cleaning, data mining, big data, data visualisation, geospatial analysis, conditional inference trees, Bayesian statistics, probability theory, predictive modelling, marketing analytics, clustering, deep learning, artificial intelligence
