Hello everyone, my name is Dennis! I am a U.S. Army OEF combat veteran with one tour of duty and four years of service. I am also a second-year PhD student in the School of Optometry and Vision Science at UC Berkeley. My current research rotation is focused on studying torsional eye movements and how they assist in providing a stable percept when viewing the world off-axis (head tilts). To accomplish this, I am utilizing a combination of C# programming in the Unity framework, and a VR headset used for eye tracking. I hope to further our understanding of how eye movements mediate visual processing and perception.Being the product of an impoverished upbringing, I am a firm believer in "paying it forward". Naturally, I do my best to leverage my success in helping others embark on their own dream-based pursuits. Aside from that, I devise my time between family, education, and learning more about random topics of interest such as physics!
