I have eighteen years of experience developing strategies to enhance opportunities for others in government, private industry, nonprofit organizations, and community coalitions. I am passionate about analyzing the most complex challenges facing diverse stakeholders, developing data-driven solutions, and nurturing collaborative partnerships to deliver results. I currently direct strategic initiatives and external affairs for a nationally recognized housing developer and leader in human services innovation. I am responsible for securing, managing, and supporting $22 million annually in public grants and strengthening relationships and external partnerships. I develop, advocate for, and advance federal, state, county, regional, and local policy positions on behalf of 1,400+ residents and 400+ employees. For twelve years I drafted, advocated, and advanced policy priorities in U.S. Congress and served in roles including district director and legislative director. In my current role in the nonprofit sector, I work with elected officials and coalitions to develop and advance complex and numerous policy priorities at all levels of government. I have led efforts to pass dozens of proposals into law at federal, state, county, regional, and local levels, and secured millions in funding for diverse priorities. Working with others brings me joy and motivates me to excel. I have proven ability to work across multifunctional teams with competing priorities to achieve success. I effectively managed teams in private, public, and nonprofit sectors as large as ninety and small as two. In my current role I proudly serve on regional coalitions to deliver affordable housing. In my personal life I have served on three nonprofit boards alongside other community leaders to bring opportunities to our region in the arts, for young people, and in housing.
