Contracted to produce Pro/E concepts for an unmanned ground vehicle for DARPA.

• Selected for this highly sought position within Gates, normally reserved for much more senior engineers, to generate ideas for and execute advanced technology development projects in support of the company's strategic.
• Developed a robotic machine attachment - reduced cell mhr requirements by 67%. The first 18 saved $1.4MM/year. At $5K each, they cost <20% of the next most cost-competitive concept. Hundreds are currently employed.
• Developed a new winding machine - increased process capability from <0.7 Cpk to >2.5, cost 1/5 of the next most cost-competitive Japanese design, exceeded all company performance objectives.

• Acting as a liason between the home offices and a remote manufacturing plant, proposed and executed capital projects.
• Area Engineer for $3MM of a major $25MM plant expansion. Directed the design, fabrication, installation and startup of state-of-the-art highly automated manufacturing equipment on time and within budget.
• Devised a dual-position tail assembly for key manufacturing machines, which increased throughput over 25%.
• Lead 3-man team that developed and built precision double-sided timing belt tooling determined by Japanese partners to be “best in class” worldwide: proven to be the most precise and to produce belts with performance.
• On 3-man team that developed cutting-edge processes and tooling for the successful manufacture of motorcycle drive belts made of reinforced urethane materials. The belt now drives all Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
