Fascinated with math and stats, and its application to finances, I reenrolled into CCNY with the plan to finish my economics degree, double major in applied math, and to go on to pursue a graduate degree in mathematics, feeling this would adequately prepare me for a career choice in quantitative analysis or actuarial work. After a short exchange of emails with the assistant chair of the undergraduate math department, it was conveyed to me perhaps an alternative solution and slightly more time efficient route would be to take as many math classes as I can my remaining semesters, which will prime me for the first two actuarial career exams. Upon completion of my economics degree, I've mastered the following pertaining to math, calculus 1, 2, and 3, linear algebra, probability theory, and discrete time models in financial math. In addition to my math skills, I've acquired some programming prowess in Excel. R, SQL, and Python. In featured there is a link to my GitHub where you'll find beginner level quantitative projects in Python that includes creation of an investor's efficient frontier and even more impressive, my trading algorithm that picks 10 winning stocks and 10 losing stocks to long and short generated by 5 price momentum factors with the goal in mind of beating the S&P500. Not only do embrace challenges and understand the level of effort it takes to achieve success, but I recognize the significance of an individual's role on a team. I believe the most crucial skill of an entry level hire is to be a competent mentee/pupil, encompassing the given position. As I continue to do research on the actuarial career, I'm excited that the exams will take a shift towards more of a data scientist role. With many in the field understanding the importance of programming and machine learning, i'm optimistic to see what the future has instore for me and how I will fit perfectly into the position
