Me, I was given the task of migrating the whole Production environment from UNIX to LINUX. In total, many scheduled jobs, Xoom transfers in and out of the old of the old environment had to be replicated on the linux Production environment. Yes, copy and paste.... you will be taking like my project manager. Yes, building a plan of everything running Xoom transfers, and ensuring sources are replicated into the new simple, but simulator structure in production. Then migrating all the SAS jobs (Eg code, base code and SAS DI Studio jobs) into a standard and making it Gridified. That is where I built the Development Framework where by you βplug inβ the old code and it run as Gridified code making use of all resources as intended by the Grid setup(available hosts, etc) and notifications via email to ensure tracking of status. This wS done and implemented on UAT first then migrated to Production and scheduled through WADE. In total a number of 650 jobs running some daily, weekly and monthly. This excludes the bank applications like IFRS9 which was to deliver on WD 2. Making use of queues to ensure deliver dates are met and required by business owners. This was and is an awesome journey that will take me forward........ Show less -

Investigating, planning and facilitating the way forward to implement SAS Grid for SAS 9.4 and on Linux - RH.What a journey it's been....... Had the opportunity to work with the team in UK, Barclays. From the hardware right through to the software component landed on various layers: Core, Open and Solution, including Visual Analytics. Through into the mix clustered storage from Veritas - new to ABSA - and none grid enabled Solution, and Grid enabled Core. Absolutely awesome. Development, UAT and Production are in place and stable. We have put down the binaries, will do the vanilla configuration. Have do some major customization to utilize the security model which runs across UAT and Production. From sawing what the user should see to ensuring the secured access to production data and shared IAP (Inter Active Production. All on the same layer - OS Level and Metadata Level. Expanding that security to the Hadoop layer where users process and storage information and data. Very exciting ......but then the user migration of the users from ASAP - old SAS Platform - to the new grid. We have migrations team managing that function. Almost done, migrated over 400 users.... awesome work done. I did the whole Production migration. Aeschylus and very job, DI Studio, Base, Users written code including Application like IFRS9, Regulatory Reporting and Customer Leads system. And then to add a twist change scheduling tool from CA to Wade. Yes we are there and growing minute by minute and day by day. Just challenges no issues...... Then to make sure all are not lost documentation are kept in Confluence. I am a stickler to ensure that is kept up to date πTo continue shortly with more detail..... Enjoy with me the journey....
