Lead Power Control Room Operator
Rabigh, Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
600 MW Steam Power Plant (5 120 MW Steam Turbine and 9 Boilers) •Led, managed and supervised a crew of 15 operators across plant operations which included but was not limited to activities such as faultfinding, shutdowns, startups, isolations and service/maintenance activities.•Perform Voltage/Frequency adjustment as per operational procedure. Monitor 110 kV GIS Substation as per power requirement of Petro Rabigh Refinery. •Ensured all operations within the plant ran and operated according to plans (shutdown/startup times) and specifications. These areas included boiler, generator and load switching. •Carrying out process isolations as directed and in accordance with the PTW System •Utilized CMMS to create, revise and complete Work Orders and Work Specifications•Acting as a member of the Incident response team as required by current procedures •Adhered to and promoted all statutory and regulatory aspects of OHS&E in the plant. Attended daily safety meetings and reported and when possible, resolved any safety issues or risks. •Trained, coached and mentored staff within the operation and provided technical guidance and support. •Performed weekly protective testing of equipment; boiler load swing, turbine testing (MOST/EOST, valve freedom test, oil test, vacuum test, load rejection) through established procedures and work instructions.•Read, interpreted and understood detailed engineering drawings, plans and designs. Provided specific drawings for LOTO (lock-out/tag-out) after routine maintenance was completed. •Participated in investigations on specific plant failures through DCS logic interpretation and sequence of event logs. Compiled findings and made recommendations to prevent future faults.•Trained and coached a high volume of staff which increased efficiency and reliability across plant operations.•Developed and implemented a start-up and shutdown of steam turbine procedure, turbine testing, black out procedure and power receiving procedure.
