My role is to lead the deployment of backup power generation at large and hyper-scale Data Centres for key global accounts, including Amazon and Microsoft. Responsible for managing the risk, quality and progress of projects and ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standard, and within agreed scope. Required to balance competing demands to ensure project objectives are achieved whilst managing a project team and their relationship with internal and external stakeholders.Within the scope of a project, I am accountable for safety and wellbeing, resource planning, budget and cost controls, subcontractor and contract management (both technical and commercial), customer interfacing as the first point of contact, risk analysis and management, and reporting of project progress and status. Performance of these is measured through Lost-Time Injury statistics, budget metrics (cost and margin), environmental, quality and technical performance to specification, and customer satisfaction. I have led major Data Centre projects with a total portfolio in the order of ~$100m with zero injuries, all within customer schedules, no technical issues or outstanding items at handover, and all showing improved margins from the tender budgets. My responsibilities regarding procurement include a mix of local and international supply-chain which must comply with high quality standards, cost-effective transportation, and smooth arrival and deployment activities. I have extensive experience ensuring all aspects of quality such as test planning, MOPs and reporting are met promptly. I take personal responsibility for safety and I am heavily involved in drafting and enforcing SWMS, appropriate exclusion zones and PPE, and frequently lead pre-start and take-five meetings for higher-risk activities.

Responsible for planning and executing the commissioning of Energy Management Systems at medium and large scale industrial, commercial, and high-energy consumer sites. Typical tasks are to analyse, estimate and quote new project opportunities, complete technical designs, documentation, and testing plans for initiated projects and to commission, test, verify and support projects from the implementation phase onwards. Such projects frequently involve direct integration with other Schneider Electric business units and external third-party platforms and people. Many of the projects are on power-critical sites such as hospitals and datacentres and require high degrees of planning and risk management. Responsible for all projects being executed by the team with a portfolio value of ~$2 million across 28 projects in addition to my normal role as a senior engineer. Tasks performed included project initiation, resource allocation and balancing, financial control and reporting, procurement and supply chain management (internal and external), scope and schedule control such as variations, subcontractor engagement and management and conflict resolution.

I was a Development Engineer specializing in embedded code development and systems design. My primary client was a major player in the manufacturing and deployment of mining explosives, for which I developed safety-critical solutions. Solutions were taken from concept to operational deployment phases, with all work being done internally. I liaised directly with various levels of client employees, from machine plant operators to regional managers and site supervisors.My official responsibilities were to: - Develop embedded software for safety, control, communications, monitoring and inventory systems deployed in open cast and underground mining explosives operations; - Provide technical support for deployed mining operations systems; - Provide technical support and advice to clients on inter-systems communication and collection of field data; - Develop requirements and designs for new mining systems directly from clients; - Liaise directly with clients on technical, developmental, operational and support issues related to new and deployed mining support systems; - Provide support to high-level application and database systems when required.In addition, I provided support and development input to various other projects being undertaken by other employees, as the need for such arose. This usually occurred in high-level application software projects operating on tight timelines. Examples of these included user-interface design and development on radio-telemetry and data-retrieval systems and inventory and logistics planning software.

I worked as a Software Developer specializing in Java and XML development in the J2EE environment, with additional work in TCL. I was given responsibility to develop solutions for integrating network tools that did not have native integration with each other. I was thus required to analyse the needs of the client in terms of the solution specification, determine the optimal method of achieving the information distribution goals of the project and develop and deploy this solution. This frequently involved retrieving information from diverse databases, transforming the data structure (usually XSLT) and inserting it into other databases. I was also tasked with assisting other employees in the unit with code development in scripting languages such as TCL when said employees did not have significant coding experience. I assisted with researching , developing and testing such code.My official responsibilities included: - Develop and deploy software modules for the integration of discrete, distributed large network management control and information systems; - Support systems deployed to large telecommunications networks; - Support and assist other employees in the development of script-based modules in multiple languages for a variety of systems and applications.
