As a Naval Electronic Sensor Operator (NESOP) in the Royal Canadian Navy from 2002 to 2015, I specialized in operating and maintaining advanced electronic sensor equipment crucial for naval operations. My role was vital in providing surveillance, detection, and electronic warfare support, ensuring the ship's operational readiness. I operated and maintained electronic warfare systems to detect, identify, and counter electronic threats, managed radar and sensor systems to maintain situational awareness, and operated fire control systems for engaging surface and air threats. Additionally, I conducted signal analysis and interception for intelligence gathering and trained and led junior NESOP personnel.Throughout my career, I completed extensive technical training and qualifications in NESOP operations and electronic warfare supervision. I gained hands-on experience with Fire Control Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, and Combat Management Systems, and participated in numerous fleet exercises and deployments, enhancing my strategic planning skills. My leadership abilities were developed through advanced instructional and leadership courses, and I received training in shipboard damage control, firefighting, and survival techniques.Key milestones in my career include enlisting and beginning basic training in 2002, achieving Intermediate NESOP qualification (QL5A) in 2005, qualifying as a Fire Control Supervisor in 2008, attaining QL6A qualification as an EW Supervisor in 2011, and being appointed as Above Water Warfare Director in 2014. These experiences have equipped me with a robust skill set and a strategic mindset, making me well-prepared for future challenges in defense and technology sectors.
