Throughout my years in school, I appreciated classes that challenged me to think outside of the box in order to solve problems. Even though these problems often require dedication and tenacity, the satisfaction of finding the most efficient solution or elegant answer to a question always made them worthwhile. I chose to study computer science at the University of South Carolina because I enojoyed the never ending challeng of improving code and finding the best steps to optimize an algorithim. This field combines my passions of problem solving and teamwork to solve real life obstacles and improve the lives of others. During my time at university, I have developed my programming skills in languages like Java and C++ through challenging coursework and group projects. Specifically, I have experience collaborating in a group to solicit requirements from a user, and program a system that satisfies their requirements. My strong communications skills coupled with technical ability makes me a valuable asset in any group. One of my strenghts is being able to listen to the ideas of others and combine them with my own to reach a better outcome. Outside of school, I enjoy leading my fraternity to participate in philanthropy events to give back to the local Columbia community. My passion for community service began when I joined the Boy Scouts of America in 2013. There, I developed my leadership and teamworks skills which I have been able to apply to all aspects of my life. I used what I learned to lead a group of volunteers to build a community garden to benefit a local church and attain the rank of Eagle Scout in 2021. Currently, I am aiding my fraternity in hosting a charity BBQ event with The Longest Day Alzheimer's Association to raise money for the care and support for those suffering from the disease. As a hardworking and ambitious individual, I am seeking a summer internship that will allow me to apply my knowledge and skills in real world scenarios. I may not have the most experience, but I am confident that my work ethic and dedication will allow me to be successful wherever I apply myself.
