This was done to assess the genotoxicity status of various carcinogens and detect corresponding potential biomarkers of genotoxicity. Results for gene expression obtained from high-throughput methods often end up being high-dimensional, so shrinkage methods (Shrunken Centroid, LASSO, etc.) were commonly employed as the modeling approach of choice. Web and text scraping were also performed to an extent to automate extraction of gene names.
