Over my career I have held Chief Executive, Managing Director, Group Finance Director and CFO roles in SMEs ranging in size from start up to >£100 million. The common feature for all of them is that they were experiencing a period of significant change whether that be business disruption and turnaround; technological innovation; raising investment; change of ownership, both generational and institutional; and internationalisation. The outcome for each of these businesses was value creation and where appropriate a successful exit for the owners and/or investors.I have worked extensively in Europe, Middle East, Americas and Asia-Pac in the energy sector as well as periods in the food industry and in safety consultancy. Working independently as a part-time executive director, non-executive director and on a project basis as a consultant, I now share the benefit of my “battle scars” by supporting businesses to not only identify but also execute strategies that will transform their business. I am also committed to “giving something back” and whether by supporting business start-ups or one to one mentoring I spend a percentage of my time on a pro-bono basis.
